Flooring 101
To help new or first time customers Club Resource Group has a list of considerations when making a flooring purchase .
What kinds of flooring are available?
All sorts. Club Resource Group sells many different kinds of flooring: hardwood, rubber, carpet, vinyl and specialty flooring. Hardwood is frequently used for aerobic, dance or basketball environments. The floor is often suspended, meaning it gives the surface some shock absorption to allow for performance. Hardwood is also highly marketable as customers like its look. Rubber flooring is cushioned flooring and is used in places like free weight areas, both for protection and padding. Carpet is available either as broadloom or as carpet tile.
Is Green flooring available?
Yes. Club Resource Group sells many environmentally sensitive types of floors. Many hardwood floors now come from sustainable forests. Some of our rubber floors are made of recycled products. Carpet can even be recycled. Consult with our sales team; they'll be happy share green solutions for you.
What will your floor's use/application be?
Let the function determine your floor material. Flooring comes in all sorts of materials, grades, thickness and colors – variables that will make a difference for your application. A suspended bamboo floor for a basketball court might look stylish, but the heavy use it endures means you'd soon be replacing it with a tried and true harder wood like maple. Carpet might seem logical in a weight room, but a dropped weight may cut carpeted flooring. Rubber flooring, however, will remain resilient and dependable.
What you think you want may not be what you really need.
Before making a purchase consult with a Club Resource salesperson. They have years of experience and can help you find value. Your facility, you might learn, may not need a floor as dense, and therefore, more expensive. Or you might discover a black rubber floor will pick up and show more dirt – and thus need to be cleaned more frequently. A colored floor, however, can hide the dust and dirt thereby adding to its value.
