Surface Options:

Continuous Strip® XL Maple
Bio-Star features a precision-kerfed version of XL Maple strip engineered for additional flexibility and resilience. Compared to random length, XL Maple goes down faster, is straighter, stronger and exceeds the minimum requirements of industry grade rules. The patented finger-joint and milling requires less sanding at the jobsite and can increase the life expectancy of the floor by 10 or more years.

Continuous Strip® XL450 Maple
The traditional look of strip maple captured in a new low profile designed to maximize the use of raw materials. Robbins’ XL450 offers the same wear life as standard commodity random length maple but uses less lumber to manufacture with less waste. Provides a highly desirable natural appearance as a result of Robbins’ careful selection and grading process. Default construction for Bio-Cushion LP.

XLplus (Precision Lineal Uniform Spacing)
Available as a specified option on all Continuous Strip Maple, this Robbins exclusive innovation provides the owner a monolithic maple surface and virtually eliminates the need for spacer-cracks or expansion rows in the floor. Patent-protected and visually confirmed, XLplus adds dimensional stability to the floor and eliminates the need to specify “edge-grain” maple strip.

Robbins supplies and recommends 4-ply plywood in all Bio-Cushion family systems.

Bio-Star
Two continuous layers of engineered 15/32" CD Exterior Grade plywood, stapled and adhered with construction adhesive. Bio-Star's plywood subfloor is kerfed on each layer to provide added flexibility and resilience.

Bio-Cushion Classic/Bio-Cushion LP
Two continuous layers of engineered 15/32" CD Exterior Grade plywood, stapled and adhered with construction adhesive.

Pad Options:

• 7/16" (11mm) EPDM Bio-Pad Optional for use on DIN-Certified Bio-Star or Bio-Cushion classic, Robbins’ exclusive, patented shock pads are made from a special blend of EPDM Rubber to ensure longevity, stability, vibration control and performance. (Contact your Robbins Authorized Dealer for additional Bio-Pad options for Ballet, Aerobics and Martial Arts activities.)
• 3/4" (19mm) Bio-Pad Standard on DIN-Certified Bio-Star, Robbins’ exclusive, patented EPDM rubber shock pads are made from a special blend of EPDM Rubber to ensure longevity, stability, vibration control and performance. (Contact your Robbins Authorized Dealer for additional Bio-Pad options for Ballet, Aerobics and Martial Arts activities.)
• Zero/G Shockpad Robbins’ low-profile, continuous cushion offers superior vibration dampening and optimal shock absorption. Special mold-preventive additive greatly reduces the potential for fungus and mold to survive beneath the floor.
• 3/8" (10mm) Bio-Sport Pad 7/16" (11mm) Bio-Sport2 Pad Cost-saving options for entry-level flooring systems. Good quality shock absorption, resiliency and vibration dampening.
• 3/8" (10mm) PVC Permacushion Pad Suitable for entry-level multipurpose sport floors desiring reasonable levels of shock absorption.
